Before I joined Citigroup Global Markets Japan, I was a trainee at a bank and then a bank-related securities company. After some success in bond sales, I started to look for better career opportunities and was offered jobs with several companies. Citigroup Global Markets Japan was one of them, but I was reluctant to accept the job because I had a young child to look after and my husband was working away from home. Eventually I accepted the offer when the firm found me a good nursery center. I still remember the HR person’s words: “We want all of our staff to be happy.”
