Why did you choose Citigroup Global Markets Japan?
Having studied corporate finance at a graduate school of engineering, I began my job search hoping to find a career position where I could make use of what I had learned. I applied to Citigroup Global Markets Japan because I was interested in working at an investment bank. I wanted to get involved in financing and M&A in line with corporate business strategies. I met many people at the interviews, and each person I met impressed me with their high level of professionalism and the sincerity of the efforts they were making for their clients each day. This was the main reason I chose Citigroup Global Markets Japan: I felt that I’d like to work with attractive and charismatic people like that?people who are not only interested in their own development, but also with a high sense of contributing to the team effort.
What do you find challenging about your job?
At Citigroup Global Markets Japan we are involved in multiple projects and given significant responsibility from the start of our careers, so naturally a high-quality output is expected of us. When a client commends us or expresses appreciation for our proposals or our advice, it’s very satisfying and makes me feel good about the value of our work.
Do you have any messages to students ?
I can still clearly remember the words of management: “We are committed to developing talent and want you to grow and develop as soon as possible to carry this company forward.” Citigroup Global Markets Japan is a company that proactively provides opportunities to junior staff. Of course it’s not easy to capitalize on the chances given and produce results; but if you’re seeking stimulation in an environment where you can grow together with the company, I think this is the perfect company for you. People who are hardworking and determined should jump into the world of investment banking?we’re waiting for you.
