| 8:30-11:30 | Quickly scan through emails from overseas, and answer queries about the previous day’s trading. For unsettled deals, consider possible causes for the delay and devise solutions with domestic and overseas Finance teams. Whoever isolates the problem then contacts middle office; an important part of the job is sorting tasks quickly and accurately so that they go to the department that should deal with them. |
| 9:00 | Communicate client order to traders and send out confirmations of trades on the day before to the clients. |
| 11:30-12:30 | Head out for lunch as away to freshen up. Sometimes with my friends who work in Marunouchi. |
| 12:30 | Booking team meeting. Discuss settlement operations for new product with Sales, Traders, Finance and Operations. It is very important for Middle Office understands each business to resolve problem efficiently because even though we work the same trade, each division has different problems. |
| System development project. For following business movements, hold a conference calls or a net meetings with Middle Office in Hong Kong and London, Operations, Finance and IT team for new product and check the proccess. Develop a new system if necessary. |

| Open account. If Sales have acquired a new client, check client information with Sales, open account, and contact Mumbai office. |

| Department study session. Because we deal with product that are complicated in structure, department study sessions are held several times a month, covering new products and their flow. It can be hard to keep up with the debate because it's full of technical terms, but it's a very valuable time. |

| 16:00 | European market opens. Once London opens, queries start coming from the London office. Unsettled trades are reported by Operations, so in order to complete settlement by the next day, I contact clients in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. directly by telephone. Find out the cause and work out a solution. |
| 19:30 | Check deals of that day. Leave office. |
| After work | Relax after a busy day by reading, spending time on hobbies and doing other things to change pace.Recently I'm big into yoga. |
